The inaugural HBCU AWAREFEST, billed as the largest fundraiser for Historically Black Colleges and Universities to date, is scheduled for March 26 at Atlanta's State Farm Arena. This significant event is a joint venture between Live Nation Urban and Student Freedom Initiative.
The festival boasts an impressive lineup of performers including Jill Scott, John Legend, Earth, Wind & Fire, Common, GloRilla, Tems, Metro Boomin, and Kirk Franklin. Additionally, notable speakers like Chris Paul and Angel Reese will participate, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the student loan debt crisis.
Proceeds from HBCU AWAREFEST will directly benefit Student Freedom Initiative's Student Freedom Loan Agreement, an alternative to costly Parent PLUS Loans. Workshops and panel discussions will also be featured, offering a nationwide call to action to support HBCU students and combat the racial wealth gap through education.
