Boston Band Haywire Drops New Album, Plans 400+ Shows

Boston hardcore band Haywire has released their new album, 'I Don't Want to Say Goodbye,' on October 2, 2026. The band's commitment to performing was tested when a nor'easter canceled their recent dates, including a slot at the CBGB Festival. Frontman Austin Sparkman highlighted their dedication, noting it takes a miracle for them to cancel. Since forming in 2023, Haywire has performed over 400 shows.

In the summer of 2024, Haywire achieved an impressive feat by playing 96 shows in 101 days across all 50 U.S. states. Sparkman, who overcame familial drug abuse and found a supportive adoptive family, moved to Boston in 2013 to pursue music. Haywire quickly gained traction, playing numerous DIY gigs and touring with the Dropkick Murphys before signing with Roadrunner Records.

The new album, 'I Don't Want to Say Goodbye,' features a range of musical styles and guest appearances. Tracks like 'That's Life' incorporate a Frank Sinatra impression, while others, such as 'Trouble in Paradise' and 'Sincerely Yours,' delve into personal themes. The album also includes collaborations with artists like Nothing, Cheyenne Snider, Mat Kerekes, Aaron Butkus, and Bruce Lepage, exploring subjects from lasting friendships to overcoming addiction.

Looking ahead, Haywire has 250 more shows planned for 2027, demonstrating their unyielding passion for live performance. Sparkman emphasizes their philosophy of seizing opportunities and living life to the fullest, stating, "I gotta strike while the iron's hot."
