In a surprise move, Hayley Williams, the lead singer of the popular rock band Paramore, has released a new R&B-influenced single titled "Good Ol' Days" just before her appearance at Rolling Stone's Musicians on Musicians event in New York. The track, which is set to be included on Williams' upcoming third solo album "Ego Death at the Bachelorette Party," features lyrical and musical nods to Paramore's 2017 album "After Laughter."
The singer has been rolling out the new album in unconventional ways, first sharing 17 individual songs on an old-school web player back in July, and then officially announcing the album title and releasing a new song called "Parachute" a month later. Now, with the release of "Good Ol' Days," Williams is continuing to tease her fans with a nostalgic look back at the "hard times" that she now considers the "good ol' days."
The singer is set to take the stage at the Beacon Theater on October 24th, where she will join Jack Antonoff for a conversation and performance as part of the Musicians on Musicians event. During her performance, Williams is expected to showcase her new single, wearing rose-colored sunglasses in a nod to Paramore's "After Laughter" era.
