During the flight, a flight attendant approached him, mistakenly congratulating him on an Emmy award that he was told his grandmother had presented. This interaction served as a stark reminder that his award wasn't a significant talking point outside of the entertainment industry bubble.

To further manage his perspective during the awards season, Styles revealed he had written himself a pre-Grammy letter. This letter was intended to help him catch himself, whether he felt disappointed or overly confident.

He explained that the letter essentially told him that the praise he received was not entirely true and that he should remember why he created his music, as that itself is the reward. Styles found it amusing how prescient he felt in writing that letter.
