Prepare for a magical return as the Harry Potter film franchise celebrates its 25th anniversary with a limited theatrical rerelease. "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," the first film in the iconic series, will be shown with an additional 12 minutes of exclusive bonus footage. This special screening is part of a global fan event series.
From August 27 to September 3, all eight Harry Potter films will be available to watch on the big screen worldwide. This extensive rerelease coincides with the "Back to Hogwarts" celebrations, commemorating the fictional students' return to the wizarding school on September 1.
Fans can secure their tickets starting July 31, which is notably Harry Potter's birthday. The "Back to Hogwarts" events will also feature interactive fan experiences, including special screenings and wand lessons in cities like Paris, Venice, Madrid, and Sydney.
In addition to the theatrical events, HBO is preparing to launch its series adaptation of Harry Potter on Christmas Day, streaming globally on HBO Max. Further digital announcements and surprises are expected on the official Harry Potter YouTube and TikTok channels on September 1. The original film franchise, which concluded in 2011, amassed an impressive $7.7 billion at the box office.
