Hallmark Star Witnesses Dramatic Dolphin Rescue in Vancouver

In May 2025, Hallmark Channel actor Andrew Walker and his wife Cassandra were enjoying their morning coffee at their oceanside home in Vancouver when they spotted a dolphin in distress. Cassandra alerted the nearby wildlife rescue team, and the Walkers joined the effort to carry the 800-pound animal to safety.

The rescue was a heartbreaking experience for the couple. The dolphin, a rare silver species, had likely been chased and attacked by an orca. "Just seeing this creature looking around, the kindness in their eyes -- it was really amazing," Andrew Walker recalled. Sadly, the dolphin did not survive.

Despite the tragic outcome, the Walkers found a silver lining in the experience. They got to know some of their neighbors who had also rushed to help, and the group has since bonded over the shared memory of the rescue. The family has continued to spot dolphins and orcas in the waters near their home, a reminder of the fragility of marine life.

The incident occurred just weeks before Walker began filming his latest Hallmark movie, "Adventures in Love & Birding," which also features a character living near a bird sanctuary. The real-life rescue has added a personal touch to Walker's on-screen role.
