24 Mar
Summary
- Blanchard explained her TikTok video was about accountability and growth.
- She used a gesture on TikTok to avoid censorship for sensitive words.
- Blanchard apologized for the video's delivery, not her past actions.

Gypsy Blanchard, aged 34, recently spoke with TMZ regarding a viral TikTok video she created with social media star Natalie Reynolds. The video featured them participating in a TikTok challenge, during which Blanchard discussed her mother's murder. She explained that she used an "X" gesture to represent the act, intending to circumvent TikTok's content moderation policies that might flag sensitive words.
Blanchard, who was released from prison on December 28, 2023, after serving eight and a half years for her mother's murder, stated that the video's purpose was to demonstrate accountability and personal growth. She acknowledged that her audience typically follows her journey for signs of progress.
She issued a deep apology to anyone offended by the video, clarifying that her intention was not to make light of her past or her mother's murder. Blanchard emphasized that she was not joking about the heavy topic and regretted if the delivery came across as abrasive, aiming instead to be authentic about her experiences and current life.
Blanchard, alongside her partner Ken Urker, welcomed their daughter Aurora in December 2025. She was initially sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
