Kannada Director Ventures into Malayalam Cinema

Filmmaker Gurudatha Ganiga, known for his work in Kannada cinema, is embarking on a new venture into Malayalam films. His upcoming Malayalam debut is slated to star the acclaimed veteran actress Urvashi in the lead role and is expected to commence filming shortly. Ganiga views this move as a natural progression, facilitated by the growing pan-India cinematic culture that encourages collaboration across regional boundaries.

The director was particularly moved by the script, brought to him by Vishnu Satheeshan. He described the story as one of the most innocent narratives he has encountered recently, centering on the profound bond between a mother and her son. Ganiga believes that such heartfelt and rarely told stories are essential for audiences to experience.

While the specifics of the Malayalam film are still being finalized, Ganiga is concurrently involved in the post-production of his latest Kannada movie, 'Karavali,' which features Prajwal Devaraj, Raj B Shetty, and Sushmitha Bhat. He is also actively engaged in scripting another Kannada project, 'Jugaari Cross.' Ganiga finds great fulfillment in these cross-cultural artistic exchanges and anticipates creating more films in both Kannada and Malayalam.
