Gurmeet Choudhary recounted his difficult beginnings in the entertainment industry, moving to Mumbai in 2003 immediately after his 12th board exams. He recalled surviving on a meager Rs 36 per day, undertaking arduous journeys via multiple buses to attend auditions. His early roles were often uncredited, but his good looks aided his progress.
During this period, Choudhary reached out to filmmaker Yash Chopra, who advised him to join television, drawing a parallel with Shah Rukh Khan's career trajectory. This encouragement motivated Choudhary to accept all opportunities.
His breakthrough came with the role of Ram in 'Ramayan,' making him a household name. However, he faced a period of typecasting, with offers limited to mythological roles for about a year and a half.
Later, Choudhary achieved success in reality shows, winning 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5' and being the first runner-up in 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 5.' He transitioned to Bollywood with 'Khamoshiyan' in 2015.
Beyond his acting career, Choudhary is involved in charitable work, supporting underprivileged children and cancer patients. He and his wife, Debina Bonnerjee, now reside in a luxurious Mumbai home valued at Rs 16 crore, and are documenting the creation of their dream farmhouse.
