Patrick Perez Vidauri has been tapped to direct the upcoming RXM Entertainment action film, 'The Gunfighter.' The screenplay, penned by Tom Jenkins, centers on a character who leads a dual life as a philosophy student and a masked vigilante. This nocturnal pursuit of justice incites fear and admiration, prompting law enforcement to unmask the vigilante while the public debates his true nature.
Mario Kassar, known for producing 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day,' has provided guidance during the project's development. Tom Jenkins and Malek Hanna are producing the film. Vannessa Vasquez, an Emmy-nominated actress recognized for her roles in 'National Treasure: Edge of History' and 'East Los High,' is also serving as a consulting producer.
Vidauri expressed excitement about the project's emotional depth, stating, "What immediately drew me to The Gunfighter was the emotional complexity beneath the action." He highlighted the characters' conflicting senses of righteousness. Producer Malek Hanna added that 'The Gunfighter' aims to be more than just an action film, describing it as a character-driven adventure that tackles the struggle between justice and vengeance.
Casting for 'The Gunfighter' is being managed by Justin Nesbitt, who recently served as an executive producer on 'The Leader.' Visual effects will be spearheaded by two-time Oscar nominee Habib Zargarpour and his team. This production is separate from a 20th Century Studios project also titled 'The Gunfighter.'
