Summary
- John Constantine would have led Guillermo del Toro's Justice League Dark.
- Batman was planned for a surprise cameo appearance in the film.
- The film aimed to blend DC's supernatural characters with superheroes.

Guillermo del Toro's envisioned "Justice League Dark" film, which he worked on for years, will not be made. Initially announced in 2012, del Toro departed the project in 2015. The film aimed to unite DC's prominent magical and supernatural characters, including Zatanna, John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, and Etrigan the Demon.
Del Toro recently revealed that John Constantine was planned as the lead. Swamp Thing and his foe, the Floronic Man, were also slated for significant roles. Frequent collaborator Doug Jones was considered for Deadman, with del Toro detailing how he could physically portray the character.
A surprising element of del Toro's script was a planned cameo from Batman. Given the film's announcement timing, this Batman would likely have been Ben Affleck's portrayal from the burgeoning DC Extended Universe. Del Toro described a scene where Batman offers the team a plane.
