Guernsey Musician's Tracks Fuel Netflix Documentary

A musician from Guernsey, Empara Mi, has had her work featured in a recent Netflix documentary miniseries. Titled 'Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model,' the three-part series delves into controversies surrounding the well-known reality television show.

Empara Mi was responsible for composing the soundtrack and score for the miniseries. She revealed that she supplied a remarkable 121 tracks for the project, which was released earlier this year. This required a significant shift in her creative process, as she noted it took her five years to produce her last album with only 15 tracks.

The artist explained that she was brought in after the filming was complete, working with a preliminary edit of the episodes. The filmmakers had established a desired tone, often described as chaotic and cutty, which guided her musical contributions.

This demanding experience has had a positive impact on her own music production. Empara Mi has already finished her next album, which she began writing at Christmas and recently recorded. She attributes this accelerated timeline to the discipline learned from the documentary project, fostering a newfound confidence for more unconventional creative endeavors.
