The film compellingly depicts a family's encounter with the refugee crisis, which the jury noted "shows how the callousness bred by habitual cruelty diminishes us all." They praised its precise performances and nuanced script for offering a clear, unsentimental reflection of societal complicity.
Other festival recognitions included Adam Lundgren for Best Acting for "The Quiet Beekeeper," which also earned the Audience Award. Emilie Thalund's "Weightless" secured the Fipresci Award, while Iván Blanco's "Malandro Moon" was named Best Nordic Documentary.
