- A dedicated team meticulously art-directed each non-player character.
- Every room and its inhabitants were hand-crafted with intricate detail.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to redefine open-world gaming with an unparalleled focus on its non-player characters (NPCs). Rockstar North co-head Aaron Garbut revealed that over 600,000 unique animations have been developed for NPCs, a significant increase from GTA 5's 55,000 and Red Dead Redemption 2's 300,000.
A newly established Los Angeles-based team was responsible for art-directing each individual NPC. This meticulous approach extends to the game's environments, where Garbut stated that every room, its contents, and the people within were hand-crafted.
Rob Nelson, head of development, described GTA 6 as an evolution of the systems pioneered in Red Dead Redemption 2. The goal was to apply that same level of interactive fidelity to a dense, modern urban setting.
The highly anticipated title is scheduled to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Series S. Reports indicate the game will target a 30fps frame rate on consoles at launch.
