- Many of the show's stars have become parents in real life
- Pompeo is not ready for her younger children to watch the show yet

As of October 16th, 2025, the cast of the hit medical drama Grey's Anatomy has welcomed quite a few children over the years. The show, which first premiered in 2005, is known for its dramatic storylines and medical cases, but parenthood has also become a significant part of life for many of its stars.
Lead actress Ellen Pompeo, who has played the titular Dr. Meredith Grey for two decades, is a mother of three children whom she shares with her husband Chris Ivery. Similarly, Chandra Wilson, who has portrayed Dr. Miranda Bailey since the show's inception, also has three children.
While Grey's Anatomy is finding a new audience with a younger generation, Pompeo recently shared during a March 2025 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live that she's not quite ready for her younger children to see the show yet. "My 15-year-old has seen it, and now my 10-year-old wants to see it," she said. "She's not ready, but a lot of kids in her class have seen it."
Pompeo added, "No judgment on other parents. But I don't want my daughter to see me in my underwear on television just yet. But all her classmates have so ... That makes for great conversation at pick-up."
From the original cast to the more recent additions, the Grey's Anatomy stars have embraced parenthood, balancing their successful careers with the joys and challenges of raising their families.
