Country Star Gretchen Wilson Wins The Masked Singer, Celebrates with Daughter

Gretchen Wilson, the Grammy-winning country singer known for hits like "Redneck Woman," has been balancing her music career with raising her daughter, Grace McKinney, as a single mom. In May 2025, Wilson achieved a surprising career milestone when she won season 13 of the reality singing competition The Masked Singer.

Though Wilson didn't expect to win, thinking runner-up Andy Grammer should have taken the top spot, her daughter was overjoyed. On the season finale, host Nick Cannon played a message from McKinney, who expressed how "unbelievably proud" she was of her mom.

McKinney, who has been by Wilson's side throughout her career, is making her own mark in the entertainment industry. The 2022 Belmont University graduate launched her own production company, Eight Paw Media, in February 2024, focusing on editing, production, graphics, and more. She has worked on several of her mom's music videos, including "Little Miss Runner Up."

As Wilson navigated the demands of her music career, she was determined to provide a stable home for McKinney. The duo lived outside Nashville, and Wilson made sure her daughter had a strong educational foundation, even earning her own GED when she was concerned her lack of a high school diploma would hold McKinney back.
