Gremlins 3 Unleashed: Gizmo's Mischievous Mogwai Return in 2027

In just two years, a new generation of moviegoers will experience the magic and mayhem of the Gremlins franchise. On November 10, 2025, it was announced that Gremlins 3 is officially in the works, with a release date set for November 19, 2027.

The highly anticipated sequel will be directed by Chris Columbus, who penned the original 1984 film. Columbus, known for directing classic '90s movies like Home Alone and Mrs. Doubtfire, as well as kicking off the Harry Potter film franchise, is currently overseeing the script, which is being retooled by filmmaking duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein.

Adding to the excitement, legendary producer Steven Spielberg, who was involved with the first two Gremlins films, is returning as an executive producer on the project. With Spielberg's involvement and the blend of humor, thrills, and chills promised by the filmmakers, Gremlins 3 is shaping up to be a must-see event for fans of the iconic horror comedy franchise.
