The original "Gremlins" was a significant box office success, grossing $212 million worldwide against an $11 million budget. It played a role in establishing the PG-13 film rating. The 1990 sequel, "Gremlins 2: The New Batch," achieved cult status despite a lower box office performance. "Few titles are as beloved and iconic as 'Gremlins,' and we're beyond excited to bring it back for both lifelong fans and a whole new generation," stated Warner Bros. Pictures' president of development and produce Jesse Ehrman.
