Main Street Greensburg is set to host its beloved annual Holiday Walk on Saturday, December 6th, kicking off a season of festive celebrations. Beginning at 2 p.m., the event offers a wide array of activities designed to delight attendees of all ages, leading up to the evening's tree lighting ceremony on the Greensburg Square.
Festivities include appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus, ready to hear holiday wishes, and a visit from the Grinch. A trackless train will offer free rides along Franklin Street, while "Gingerbread Alley" provides a creative space with cardboard gingerbread houses for coloring and snow machines to enhance the winter ambiance. Local radio station WTRE will broadcast holiday music live from their stage on the square.
The day's excitement builds with the 5:30 p.m. WTRE Lighted Holiday Parade, themed "Frosty the Snow Man," which will travel through downtown Greensburg. Following the parade, the Greensburg Community High School Choir will perform seasonal tunes before the highly anticipated tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Those interested in participating in the parade can contact Kathy Verseman via email.
