Cast members from the beloved 1978 film Grease recently came together for a heartwarming reunion, almost 50 years after the movie's premiere. Didi Conn (Frenchy), Dinah Manoff (Marty), Lorenzo Lamas (Tom), Barry Pearl (Doody), and Jamie Donnelly (Jan) surprised fans by singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" in tribute to a vacationing Michael Tucci (Sonny).
Didi Conn, who has actively kept the spirit of Grease alive, also shared an amusing story about her audition for Frenchy. She recounted how seeing a "Frenchy's Beauty Parlor" sign while driving home led her to get a memorable hairstyle, which she then incorporated into her audition, impressing the director.
Conn also reflected on her special bond with Olivia Newton-John, who played Sandy. She described how their friendship began on their first day of filming, with Conn improvising lines to help a nervous Newton-John settle into her role. Their connection deepened over the years, with Conn remaining friends with Newton-John until her passing in 2022.
Other cast members also found success after Grease. Dinah Manoff notably won a Tony Award in 1980 and later pursued writing, releasing a book in 2021. Conn herself appeared in various popular shows throughout her career.
