Grammys Diversify Voting Body Ahead of 2026 Nominations

In the lead-up to the 2026 Grammy nominations, the Recording Academy has taken significant steps to diversify its voting body. As of November 3, 2025, the academy has added approximately 2,900 new voting members, with 49% being age 39 and under, 60% being people of color, and 30% identifying as women.

Additionally, for the first time, the academy has extended invitations to all voting members of the Latin Recording Academy, and many have accepted. This move is seen as a strong indicator that Latin artists like Bad Bunny and Karol G could be headed for major nominations. Bad Bunny, in particular, is considered a likely nominee for Album of the Year for his album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos," especially since he was recently announced as the headliner for the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show.

The academy has also revealed the list of celebrities who will participate in the 2026 Grammy nominations livestream on November 7, 2025. Among them are several artists who are vying for nominations, including Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Brandi Carlile, Doechii, Jon Batiste, and Karol G. While an invitation to the livestream doesn't automatically guarantee a nomination, it is seen as a positive sign for these artists.
