Graham Norton's brutal Eurovision verdict revealed
14 May
Summary
- UK Eurovision duo Electro Velvet received harsh feedback from Graham Norton.
- They were told to not bother releasing another song post-show.
- Social media apps were deleted to shield contestants from negativity.

In 2015, Electro Velvet represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, ultimately securing 24th place out of 27 acts. Following the event, commentator Graham Norton delivered a stark piece of advice to the duo.
Alex Larke, one half of Electro Velvet, recalled meeting Norton at a hotel bar after the show. When asked about future plans, and after mentioning the possibility of releasing another song, Norton bluntly stated, 'Nah, I wouldn't bother, it's over for you.' This remark left a lasting impression on Larke.
The pair also disclosed an unusual rule implemented by organizers: all social media apps were removed from contestants' phones in the lead-up to the contest. This was to prevent artists from being distracted or discouraged by public comments, whether positive or negative.
Bianca Nicholas, the other member of Electro Velvet, expressed her devastation at the result, admitting to being in tears and wanting to disappear, fearing her career was ruined. Despite moments of wanting to quit, she felt unable to pull out due to the involvement of many others.
Looking ahead to the 70th song contest, Electro Velvet offered advice to the current UK representative, Look Mum No Computer. They emphasized the importance of enjoying the experience but urged them to enter with realistic expectations and a backup plan, highlighting their own lack of representation and management as a crucial oversight.
