Summary
- Abrams worried stability threatened her music writing drive.
- She finds inspiration in her relationship with Paul Mescal.
- Her new album, Daughter From Hell, drops July 17.

Pop star Gracie Abrams recently revealed how her relationship with boyfriend Paul Mescal influenced her approach to music. Initially, she worried that newfound happiness and stability might diminish her artistic drive, a concern she shared in a recent interview.
Abrams discussed her life in London with Mescal, who is currently filming a Beatles biopic. She found comfort in their shared home, filled with instruments. This domesticity, however, initially "freaked her out" artistically.
She found solace and a new direction with the help of her producer, Aaron Dessner. Abrams learned it was acceptable to "mine deeper and refine" her natural inclinations, even if they appeared less conventionally polished.
Her third studio album, "Daughter From Hell," is scheduled for release on July 17. The album draws inspiration from her teenage years and past conflicts with her family.
This new project follows her successful 2024 album, "The Secret of Us," which achieved significant chart success, including five Billboard Hot 100 hits and Abrams' first top 10 single.
