Júlia de Paz Solvas' Spanish drama, 'The Good Daughter,' has captured top honors at the 29th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, winning both the Grand Prix and the Audience Award. The film's breakout star, 17-year-old Kiara Arancibia, also received the best actress award for her compelling performance in her debut role.

'The Good Daughter' adapts Solvas' 2021 short film and focuses on a young girl caught between her divorcing parents, exploring the impact of psychological violence and the pressure to choose sides. Arancibia's nuanced performance, coached by Tamara Casellas, was praised for its restraint, mirroring the director's intention to show children's suppressed emotions.

The filmmakers emphasized representing subtle forms of violence, noting that it often goes unnoticed by society and judicial systems. While the narrative centers on Carmela's challenging family situation, the creative team is already developing new projects, with Arancibia expressing an interest in screenwriting.
