28 Feb
Summary
- T-Series bought music rights for Golmaal 5 for Rs. 9 crore.
- A past copyright dispute occurred between T-Series and Rohit Shetty.
- T-Series and Rohit Shetty have a long history of successful collaborations.

T-Series has secured the music rights for the highly anticipated Golmaal 5, reportedly for Rs. 9 crore. This acquisition comes after a recent period of tension between T-Series head Bhushan Kumar and filmmaker Rohit Shetty. The relationship had strained when Bhushan Kumar's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 competed with Rohit Shetty's Singham Again at the box office in Diwali 2024.
Matters escalated when T-Series issued a copyright strike on the Singham Again title track, claiming resemblance to the original Singham theme. This forced Shetty's team to remove the song and rework it. Shetty later commented on the incident, acknowledging the contractual nature of such disputes.
Despite this recent friction, T-Series and Rohit Shetty share a decades-long successful partnership. T-Series has been the music partner for 12 of Shetty's 15 directorial ventures, underscoring a history of collaboration prior to the Singham Again issue.
