Writer-director Takashi Yamazaki has unveiled "Godzilla Minus Zero," the direct sequel to his Academy Award-winning "Godzilla Minus One." Yamazaki shared exclusive footage at CinemaCon, revealing Godzilla's renewed global threat and its new target: New York City.
The narrative will continue to center on the Shikishima family as they once again face the monumental task of stopping Godzilla. A teaser hinted at escalating conflict, with an American voice suggesting the potential use of atomic weapons if Japan's efforts fail. Yamazaki emphasized the importance of the theatrical experience, stating that Godzilla truly comes alive on the big screen.
"Godzilla Minus Zero" is scheduled for release in Japan on November 3 and worldwide on November 6. Notably, it will be the first Japanese live-action film to receive the "Filmed for Imax" designation, underscoring its cinematic scale.
