Godstar, a dark comedy-drama from director Oren Shai, has completed production in Los Angeles. The film features Olivia Taylor Dudley as Ronnie Dalton, a sharp-tongued actress, and François Arnaud as Sky Blue, her charismatic ex-lover.
Dalton travels to Los Angeles to rehearse a revival of a play that launched her career. Her co-star is Blue, the man who left her at the peak of their shared success fifteen years prior. Their reunion triggers a brutal rehearsal that dismantles the facades they’ve maintained.
The film is Shai's second feature, following SXSW premiere The Frontier. It also represents the screenwriting debut of Nicole Morier, known for her songwriting collaborations with artists like Britney Spears and Charli XCX. Director Shai described Godstar as deeply personal, exploring artists creating their own tragedies.
Godstar boasts a cast including Blu Hunt and James Urbaniak. Principal photography took place in Los Angeles. The film promises a blend of dark humor and intense drama, examining the sacrifices artists make for their craft.
