In 2025, the second installment of the 'Wicked' duology, titled 'Wicked: For Good', is set to hit theaters. The film, which has undergone a title change from the previously announced 'Wicked: Part Two', will continue the captivating story of Glinda (Ariana Grande) and Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) in the land of Oz.
According to reports, the sequel will see the two lead characters potentially more separated than in the first film, though they will still share some duets, including the iconic song 'For Good'. The supporting cast, including Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Ethan Slater as Boq, and Marissa Bode as Nessarose, will also return. Additionally, Michelle Yeoh's Madame Morrible and Jeff Goldblum's Wizard of Oz will reprise their roles.
Notably, Colman Domingo has been revealed as the voice of The Cowardly Lion in the second film. Director Jon M. Chu, who took over the project in 2021, has confirmed that he has already cut both films back-to-back, ensuring a seamless transition between the two parts.
Fans of the 'Wicked' franchise can look forward to a special first look at the trailer for 'Wicked: For Good' when the first film returns to theaters for a one-night-only event on June 4, 2025. The trailer will also debut at NBCUniversal's upfront presentation in May of that year.
