Gladiators Schedule Shake-Up: Football Forces Late Nights!
12 Feb
Summary
- Gladiators' broadcast times shifted for upcoming football matches.
- New airtimes mean potentially late nights for young viewers.
- Show will be available for early streaming on BBC iPlayer.

Popular program Gladiators has undergone a significant schedule adjustment on the BBC, with upcoming episodes moved to accommodate live football. The show, which has garnered between five and eight million viewers per episode since its 2024 reboot, will not air at its regular 5:45 pm time on the next two weekends. Instead, on February 14, it is scheduled for an 8:00 pm broadcast if the football match concludes within 90 minutes. The following week, on February 21, Gladiators will air at 7:15 pm.
This alteration presents a potential issue for parents concerned about young viewers staying up past 8:00 pm to watch the 60-minute episodes. The scheduling change arrives at a critical juncture for the current series, with the fifth episode marking the final heat before the quarter-finals commence. Other BBC programs, including Morning Live and BBC Breakfast, have also seen schedule changes due to football coverage.
Fortunately for families, Gladiators will be accessible earlier via BBC iPlayer, available for streaming from 4:00 pm on the day of its broadcast. This news follows reports of a training injury sustained by one of the show's Gladiators, Legend (Matt Morsia), who damaged his bicep tendon. Despite this setback for Legend, other Gladiators such as Apollo, Athena, and Comet are expected to feature in upcoming episodes.
