The romantic comedy Ginny Weds Sunny 2, starring Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr, has encountered a slow start at the box office. Despite being a sequel, the film is struggling to draw significant footfalls in theaters. Early estimates for its second day, April 25, 2026, indicate earnings between 60 lakh and 1 crore, showing a jump of over 100% from its opening day collection of 30 lakh.

The film's journey has been made more difficult by mixed word-of-mouth and intense competition from other releases. Unlike established stars, the lead actors may not possess the same star power to draw large crowds. This has led to the film being "sandwiched" between bigger releases.

Projections suggest that Ginny Weds Sunny 2 might register the second-lowest opening weekend of 2026 in Bollywood. Currently, the lowest opening weekend belongs to the psychological thriller Mayasabha with 54 lakh.
