Gillian Anderson Regrets Early Motherhood Sacrifices

Gillian Anderson, now 58, has shared reflections on her early career and motherhood. She expressed a wish to have been less selfish regarding parenting decisions made when her daughter, Piper, was young.

During the demanding production of "The X-Files," Anderson worked 17-hour days, a schedule she felt she couldn't challenge despite her central role. She notes she had leverage she wasn't aware of at the time.

Anderson has previously contemplated an alternate life path with less work and more presence as a parent. Her approach to parenting later shifted with the birth of her sons, Oscar and Felix.

Despite these reflections, Anderson continues a prolific acting career with recent roles in "The Crown" and "Sex Education," and she is enjoying her current work.
