Ghostbusters animated series goes truly scary!

Netflix is expanding the Ghostbusters universe with an animated series titled 'Ghostbusters: Night Shift,' slated for release in 2027. Executive producers Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan are returning, promising a show that leans into genuine scares alongside humor.

Showrunner Elliott Kalan stated the series aims to be "dangerously funny, actually scary and 100% Ghostbusters." This approach follows in the footsteps of 'The Real Ghostbusters,' which featured memorable, frightening villains. The creative team has meticulously designed new monsters, with producers emphasizing the detailed craftsmanship behind these supernatural threats.

The series is set in 1994 New York City and introduces a fresh ensemble of young characters. This diverse group includes "the goth, the punk, the kid, the con-man, the scientists and the terror puppy." Together, they will confront supernatural forces threatening the city, offering a new take on the classic Ghostbusters formula.
