Beverley Art Gallery is set to host 'Memories of Drawings,' an exhibition featuring 21 photogravure prints by the celebrated American artist Georgia O'Keeffe. The collection, on display from March 28 to May 23, traces O'Keeffe's artistic journey from 1915 to 1963. Curators describe O'Keeffe as a pivotal figure in 20th-century modern art. The exhibition arrives 40 years after her passing, providing an opportunity to celebrate her significant contributions. This touring exhibition from London's Hayward Gallery showcases how O'Keeffe's drawings shaped her thinking, from early abstractions to iconic flower studies and landscapes. In addition to the prints, the gallery will present 'The Brightness of Light,' a documentary film exploring the artist's life. This marks the first time the film will be screened as part of an exhibition dedicated to O'Keeffe's work.
