Unseen George Michael Faith Tour Film Premieres

A previously unseen concert film documenting George Michael's iconic 1988 Faith Tour is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release later this year. The film, shot during the European leg of the tour in Paris, captures Michael during a pivotal career moment, shortly after the release of his highly successful solo album.

The footage, meticulously restored from a 14-camera shoot on 35mm film, showcases Michael's live performance at the peak of the Faith era. This period is widely regarded as when he solidified his status as a defining global pop star of the late 20th century.

The theatrical presentation will include a short film by Mary McCartney, featuring unheard interview audio from Michael, exclusive photographs by Herb Ritts, and behind-the-scenes footage. Accompanying the film, a 18-track live album titled 'The Faith Tour' will be released, featuring unreleased performances from the tour and selections from Michael's solo work and Wham!.

George Michael's 1987 album 'Faith' was a monumental success, earning a Grammy for Album of the Year and spawning four Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits. He remains the only British male solo artist to achieve this feat from a single album. The album sold over 25 million copies worldwide, transforming Michael into an MTV era icon. Throughout his career, he sold over 125 million records globally and achieved eight Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits. Michael, who passed away in 2016 at age 53, was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.
