General Hospital Star Kirsten Storms Undergoes Brain Surgery for Aneurysm

Kirsten Storms, the star of the long-running soap opera General Hospital, is preparing to undergo surgery for a brain aneurysm in the coming weeks. Storms revealed the news in a detailed Instagram post on October 12, 2025, explaining that the aneurysm was first discovered during a follow-up scan in January of that year.

The actress had previously had a brain cyst removed in 2021, and the January 2025 scan was done to check on her condition. Storms said that the doctors found the aneurysm on the right side of her brain, which came as a major shock. She then underwent a procedure where a camera was threaded from her leg up to her brain to further examine the situation.

Storms also cited her physical and mental health as reasons for her decision to move from Los Angeles to Nashville with her daughter Harper earlier this year. She believes the stress and the new brain cyst that was found on her brain stem contributed to the need for these changes. The coiling procedure to address the aneurysm is now scheduled for the next 2 weeks.

Despite the health challenges, Storms remains positive, noting that she is thankful for the support of her loved ones, including her longtime friend and fellow General Hospital alum, Emme Rylan, with whom she has collaborated on a sweater-making project.
