Genelia Deshmukh recently made a cinematic fashion statement with a vibrant cobalt blue Ikal saree. This particular drape is recognized for its rare Geographical Indication (GI) tag, awarded in 2007, underscoring its unique heritage. The saree originates from Karnataka and is distinguished by its intricate tope teni technique, a craft historically developed in the Bagalkot district, where the pallu and body are joined using a series of loops.

The saree itself boasts a striking red border woven with gold thread in a geometric triangular pattern. The pallu features delicate silver detailing, adding to its artisanal appeal.
