Gene Gallagher, son of Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, recently showcased his musical talents with his band Villanelle during an intimate performance in London. The 24-year-old vocalist and guitarist commanded the stage at The Lexington venue, demonstrating a swagger reminiscent of his famous father. He was notably supported by his older half-brother, Lennon, and cousin Sonny, who is Noel Gallagher's son.
Villanelle, a four-piece band, released their debut single 'Hinge' in September, a track Gene described as being about "paranoia derived from sleepless nights." The band's sound is a diverse mix of grunge, shoegaze, punk, and alternative rock, drawing influences from artists like Black Sabbath, Nirvana, and Arctic Monkeys. They have been actively performing live since 2024.
The band gained significant exposure by supporting Gene's father on his 'Definitely Maybe' 30th anniversary tour earlier this year. This opportunity allowed them to connect with a wider audience, building on their growing reputation in the indie music scene. Gene and his cousin Anaïs were reportedly instrumental in reuniting Liam and Noel Gallagher for the tour.
