Garth Brooks' Diamond Albums Honored at RIAA Gala

Garth Brooks received a significant honor from the Recording Industry Association of America® (RIAA) this week, accepting the inaugural 'Artist of a Lifetime' award. Brooks is distinguished as the sole artist in history to achieve 10 Diamond album certifications. His wife, Trisha Yearwood, joined him at the RIAA celebration in Washington D.C. The couple recently marked their 20th wedding anniversary in December.

Brooks expressed his deep gratitude for the award, reflecting on the support and opportunities he has been given throughout his career. He emphasized the importance of perseverance, recalling advice that maintaining success is the true challenge. The event also featured the unveiling of a plaque commemorating Brooks' 10 RIAA-certified Diamond albums at the organization's headquarters.

To commemorate the occasion, Brooks delivered an acoustic performance. His set included a medley of his own hits and songs that have influenced his musical journey, such as James Taylor's "Carolina In My Mind" and Bob Seger's "Turn The Page." He concluded his performance with a rousing rendition of "Friends in Low Places."
