The HBO series "Task" follows a group of FBI field agents on a mission to find a missing child, set against the backdrop of violent robberies of drug houses in Philadelphia. As the agents, led by Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo), inch closer to uncovering the culprit, they find themselves in a high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse with the Dark Hearts motorcycle gang, also searching for the perpetrator.
The Dark Hearts have discovered that the man they're looking for is Robbie Prendergast (Tom Pelphrey), an unassuming garbage collector responsible for the deaths of multiple gang members and the kidnapping of a child named Sam. In Episode 5, Dark Hearts leader Perry Dorazo (Jamie McShane) investigates the Prendergasts' house, determined to find Sam's whereabouts. However, in a shocking turn of events, Perry murders Eryn (Margarita Levieva), the wife of his close confidante and surrogate son, Jayson (Sam Keeley), after discovering she had lied to him.
As the FBI and the Dark Hearts both scour the Delaware County suburbs of Philadelphia, the two sides race to be the first to find Robbie Prendergast and uncover the truth behind the violent robberies and the missing child case.
