'Gajab Raat' centers on a corrupt police officer whose encounter with a severely injured girl, found abandoned, triggers a complex investigation. The narrative unfolds over a single, urgent night, filled with suspense, moral quandaries, and unexpected plot twists.
This project marks Ritesh Shah's directorial debut, with Bajpayee expressing excitement about the character's complexity and the questions of accountability it raises. The collaboration reunites Bajpayee and Neeraj Pandey after their 2018 work on 'Aiyaary'.
The film was originally titled 'Ghooskhor Pandat' but was voluntarily changed due to public sentiment and legal notices, with filmmakers clarifying the title's context. The new title, 'Gajab Raat,' aims to maintain the suspense while respecting public feelings.
