Gadsden is set to elevate its annual Freedom Fest with the debut of tethered hot air balloon rides and glowing balloon displays. This exciting new feature will offer festival-goers a unique perspective as they ascend between 30 to 50 feet. The rides are available for $20 per person.
The festival, held at Moragne Park, remains free to attend and will feature live music, a variety of food vendors, and fireworks. The tethered balloon rides will operate on July 3rd from 5-9 p.m. and on July 4th from 5-8:30 p.m.
Seven stationary balloons will also glow after dusk each evening, providing a visually stunning spectacle for attendees to photograph. The event organizers are enthusiastic about introducing this unique aerial attraction to the community, aiming to create memorable experiences for all.
Fred Poole, owner of Champagne Sunrise Company, along with his family, will operate the balloons. Poole, a former pilot, turned his passion for balloons into a business, coordinating festivals and enjoying the smiles of people experiencing their first ride.
