Promoter Eddie Hearn has announced that Anthony Joshua is in the final stages of contract negotiations to face Tyson Fury later this year. Joshua is expected to have a warm-up fight in July before the highly anticipated clash with Fury. This plan aligns with discussions involving Oleksandr Usyk, who has been training alongside Joshua.
The massive heavyweight bout is being funded by Saudi advisor Turki Alalshikh, who aims to stage the biggest fight in UK history. While the exact location is yet to be confirmed, there is hope that the fight will be held in the United Kingdom.
Fury's last professional appearance was a points win against Arslanbek Makhmudov this month, his first fight since losing to Oleksandr Usyk for the second time in December 2025. Joshua, meanwhile, is making a comeback after a car crash in Nigeria in December 2025, which tragically claimed the lives of two teammates.
