An official trailer has been released for the upcoming Hong Kong action film, "The Furious," directed by Kenji Tanigaki. This film is poised to deliver a classic action experience, blending elements from acclaimed Asian cinema.
The movie stars Chinese actor Xie Miao and Indonesian star Joe Taslim, known for their roles in "The Raid" films. They are joined by Indonesian action favorite Yayan Ruhian and Thai actress Yanin Vismitananda, promising impressive fight sequences.
The plot centers on Wei (Xie Miao), a father on a relentless mission to rescue his daughter, who has been abducted by an international organized crime syndicate. He receives assistance from Navin (Joe Taslim), a journalist with his own hidden agenda.
"The Furious" made its debut at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival's Midnight Madness sidebar, where it was well-received by audiences and finished as the runner-up for the People's Choice Award. Lionsgate has secured worldwide distribution rights, excluding China, Hong Kong, and Macao.
The film is scheduled for theatrical release on May 29.
