Netflix's upcoming limited series, "The Altruists," focusing on FTX founders Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison, has announced significant cast additions. The series, inspired by New York Magazine's reporting, aims to tell the story of these ambitious young idealists who allegedly attempted to revolutionize the financial system before facing accusations of stealing $8 billion.
The newly announced cast includes Hudson Williams, Jennifer Grey, Terry Chen, Elizabeth Adams, Hannah Galway, and William Mapother. These actors join previously confirmed leads Julia Garner as Caroline Ellison and Anthony Boyle as Sam Bankman-Fried, alongside other series regulars like Eugene Young and Madison Hu.
Eight episodes of "The Altruists" have been ordered by Netflix. Filming for the series took place over the summer and fall of last year. Graham Moore and Jacqueline Hoyt are serving as co-showrunners and executive producers, with James Ponsoldt directing the first episode. The series explores the narrative of Bankman-Fried and Ellison, often described as "Gen Z's own Bonnie & Clyde."
