Tubi FrightFest, the U.K.'s premier horror and fantasy film festival, has revealed the lineup for its 27th annual event, marking the largest presentation in its history. The five-day festival will take place from August 27-31 in London, showcasing 82 feature films.
This year's festival includes 24 world premieres and features films originating from 16 different countries across four continents. "Nervous," directed by Abner Pastoll and filmed entirely in South Korea, will open the event with its world premiere. This psychological thriller stars Sarah Bolger as a woman experiencing auditory hallucinations.
Further highlights from Asia include Yeon Sang-ho's highly anticipated zombie film "Colony," alongside screenings of his 10th-anniversary hit "Train to Busan." Joko Anwar's horror-comedy "Ghost in the Cell" and the record-breaking Korean horror "Salmokji: Whispering Water" are also featured, alongside remastered Japanese titles.
The closing night film is the U.K. premiere of "Species," a sci-fi body-horror from French director Marion Le Corroller, which explores themes of workplace burnout. The festival also presents Christopher Smith's satirical horror "Spider Island" and Casey Walker's period survival horror "Ithaqua."
