French romantic comedy 'The Doll' is experiencing significant international success at the European Film Market, with Urban Sales facilitating numerous distribution deals.
The film, starring Vincent Macaigne as Rémi, a synthetic turf seller who lives with a life-sized doll named Audrey (Zoé Marchal), has been purchased by distributors in Germany, Austria, Benelux, and Spain, among others. HBO Central Europe and Capella (CIS) have also acquired rights.
Directed by Sophie Beaulieu, 'The Doll' follows Rémi's life after his doll Audrey mysteriously comes to life upon the arrival of a new temp worker, Patricia (Cécile de France). This fantastical event initiates a series of surreal and transformative occurrences.
The film is slated for release in France on April 22 by Ad Vitam. The production boasts a strong lineup of co-producers, including Novoprod Cinéma and Atelier de Production.
