Forza Horizon 6 is heading to Japan, promising an immersive open-world racing experience. Developer Playground Games has crafted a map five times larger than any previous cityscape, blending rural mountainsides, suburban areas, and the bustling streets of Tokyo. This expansive Japanese setting will feature significant verticality, with winding roads and layered highways catering to new racing modes such as touge racing and time attacks.
The game places a strong emphasis on Japanese car culture, launching with an impressive roster of 550 Japanese domestic market vehicles. New social features include car meets, allowing players to connect, showcase their rides, and share custom designs. Progression has also been reimagined, with players starting as tourists and working towards Horizon Legend status, unlocking exclusive content by collecting stamps from visited locations.
Built on an overhauled ForzaTech engine, Forza Horizon 6 will deliver stunning visuals showcasing dense, detailed environments, from lush bamboo forests to neon-lit Tokyo. Dramatic seasonal changes will keep the landscapes fresh, complemented by significantly improved audio with authentic car sounds and a new acoustic modeling system. The game is scheduled to launch on May 19 for PC and Xbox, with a PlayStation 5 version to follow later in the year.
