Fort Myers Concerts: Resilience in Sound
9 Jul
Summary
- Fort Myers concert series features Ukrainian orchestra and tango dancers.
- Series supports musicians from war-torn Ukraine.
- Membership recovering after pandemic and Hurricane Ian impacts.

The Fort Myers Community Concert Association's series, running from January to March 2027, will feature a variety of performances at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall. A highlight will be the return of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, a 108-year-old ensemble previously welcomed in 2017, offering audiences a chance to support musicians from a country affected by war.
The association, a volunteer nonprofit, has seen its membership numbers grow since facing a decline due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricane Ian. While not yet at pre-pandemic levels of around 1,700 members, the current approximately 1,000 members indicate a positive recovery trajectory. The series aims to attract new attendees and rebuild its audience base.
Subscriptions for the five-show 2027 season are priced between $65-$165, with single tickets going on sale December 1, 2026, ranging from $25-$55. The series, founded in 1949 by Barbara B. Mann, continues to be financially secure through sponsorships, including this year's season sponsor, Sanibel Captiva Community Bank.
