Speroni's personal experiences have deeply influenced his filmmaking. As a child, he witnessed his family lose everything in a heavily publicized scandal, with his uncle being sent to prison. Years later, while studying film, Speroni gained access to a maximum-security prison, an experience that brought back vivid memories of his own family's struggles. This led him to spend two years living inside the prison to make his previous films "Rancho" and "The Bilbaos."
