Foo Fighters have unveiled "Of All People," a powerful new single from their upcoming 12th album, "Your Favorite Toy," scheduled for release on April 24. This aggressive rock track features Dave Grohl reflecting on the arbitrary nature of survival and loss.
Grohl shared that the song was born from an emotional encounter with a past acquaintance who had overcome severe addiction, prompting deep introspection about the friends lost to similar struggles. He described the conflicting feelings of gratitude and anger as a form of survivor's guilt.
The album, "Your Favorite Toy," was recorded at home with co-producer Oliver Roman and marks the band's first work with new drummer Ilan Rubin. The title track, released earlier, apparently unlocked the album's overall direction.
Following the album's release, Foo Fighters are set to perform at Welcome to Rockville in Florida on May 8, followed by Bottlerock Napa Valley and a European tour. They will return to North America for dates through September, with Queens of the Stone Age and Mannequin Pussy joining them for most shows.
